A weekend in Warsaw!

Posted on

Warsaw was a great surprise! A cool destination with a lot of things to offer.

First things first: how to move? Uber is a great option, it is easy to pay when you first arrive.

Once you are in the city you can get some cash in any ATM. Although it is quite easy to pay with a credit card all around in case you want to avoid withdrawing too much cash.

After you drop the bags, another great way to move around is to rent a bike. Warsaw has an outstanding bicycle road system infrastructure, that works from March to November. All you need is to register at Veturilo, whether the terminal through the machine or the website or the app.

You will get an SMS with the codes you need so you will need that your phone can receive messages in Warsaw. To pay for the service you will need a credit card.

Now that you are set up and can easily move around you have several possibilities! The bike paths are spread through all the city.

You can visit the old city to find a beautiful layout of typical East European architecture.

Warsaw is the ideal place to learn about world history.  I recommend the Warsaw Rising Museum, the prices go around 20 PLN (about 5 EUR).  Next to the Museum area, towards Towarowa Street, you will find almost hidden a cozy coffee place.

Also the Museum of the History of the Polish Jews (25 PLN). Both Museums show an extensive review, it totally worths it.

Another Museum that I would visit is The Copernicus Science Centre.  If you are short on time, just go to the rooftop of the building, you will find an amazing surprise up there. (Talking about rooftops near there is the one at the University Library, check it out!!)

In fact, the Copernicus is located in one of the greatest leisure spaces of Warsaw! a huge extension of landscape architecture going along the river. A perfect example of a truly democratic space where everybody is welcome.

The happy vibe of this place is shared by all citizens and guests of all ages. You will find places to relax, to eat, drink, bike, walk, sit, open-air concerts, and all you can imagine.

In a word: Fabulous!!!

Once you are there you can enjoy a pizza at Dwa Osiem or have a drink, around there you will have many options. If you are traveling on a budget you can bring your own drinks and just enjoy the public areas as well.

If you are looking for something a bit more formal go along Nowogrodzka street you will find many options for eating, drinking, and partying.

Anyway, those are ideas for a short stay in Warsaw! but of course, there is more to see! There are many more interesting museums, green areas, public spaces, bars, and restaurants, but this is a good way to get to know the city on a weekend or a two-three day stay. Enjoy Warsaw!!!
